To minimise the impact of COVID-19 many events have been cancelled or postponed until later in 2020 (see below):

Project Updates - Important:

The ANZAC Day Dawn Service: Permit approved for a scaled back event. The following road will be closed between 5 am to 8 am on 25 April 2020 to facilitate the event:

  • North Terrace between Pulteney Street and Charles Street, and
  • Kintore Avenue between North Terrace and Morgan Thomas Lane

The following events have been cancelled or postponed:

  • Union Hotel ANZAC Day Street Party 2020: cancelled;
  • The Mother's Day Classic: cancelled;
  • The North Adelaide Rare and Classic Car Show: cancelled;
  • Gouger Street Yum Cha Cha Street Party: cancelled;
  • The Uni SA: Graduation Ceremonies 2020: postponed until September/October 2020. Final dates are still to be confirmed;
  • Adelaide Sanitarium Weet-Bix Kids Tryathlon has been postponed until later in 2020. A new date is yet to be confirmed;
  • Cry Baby Fest 2020: still to be confirmed whether this event is proceeding.

Background

Under the Local Government Act 1999, the City of Adelaide is required to consult the public before it can grant a permit for an event that requests to use a public road for business purposes, and which will require whole or partial road closure(s) that may impede the passage of traffic to a material degree.
