Consultation has concluded
Anecdotal feedback from the Fringe suggested that Yabarra – Gathering of Light was successful and well attended.
Project Update
Since the conclusion of consultation the event organisers have opted for a new name for this event, Yabarra – Gathering of Light. Further updates will refer to this event by this name.
Thank you for your feedback. Following consultation a report was presented to Council on 9 October 2018. At the meeting Council granted an event licence to Adelaide Fringe to stage Yabarra - gathering of Light along the banks of the River Torrens at Karrawirra near the Adelaide University Footbridge during February and March 2019.
An application has been received to stage an Adelaide Fringe event, Tarndaparri Karrawirraparri Munaintya – A Dreaming Place along the banks of the River Torrens at Karrawirra near the Adelaide University Footbridge. The event will run nightly from 8.30pm to midnight from 15 February 2019 until 17 March 2019.
The event setup would begin on Monday 11 February 2019. The pull down will be complete by Friday 22 March 2019.
We have a commitment and legislative requirement to consult the public on this proposed event as it will occupy a significant portion of a Park for more than four weeks (including bump in and out).
Your feedback is sought to gauge whether there is support for the proposed event to proceed and whether there are any other measures that could be put in place to provide the best experience for event goers and community, and/or to minimise impacts on the surrounding environment.
All submissions must be received by CoA by 5pm, Wednesday 12 September 2018.
