Are you a city-based business? Your input is sought on the development of a charter for a new subsidiary of Council: a City Wide Business Model. Let’s Charter!
Background
On 9 June 2020, Council endorsed the establishment of a new subsidiary of Council under Section 42 of the Local Government Act 1999 to drive the economic growth of the city through attracting investment and supporting businesses, festivals and events, as well as visitor and student growth.
This is an important step in delivering on a key action of the City of Adelaide Strategic Plan 2020-24 to implement a City Wide Business Model.
We are seeking your input to develop the draft Charter for this new subsidiary that will outline the object and purpose of the subsidiary, as well as its powers, functions, duties, governance (Board skills and membership) and funding arrangements.
We will also be consulting with the Rundle Mall Management Authority (RMMA) in relation to its charter, ensuring that RMMA’s separate rate would remain solely for the benefit of Rundle Mall, and to explore how the outcomes it currently delivers would work within a City Wide Business Model context.
Get involved!
If you are a city-based business, you can contribute to the development of the Charter for the new subsidiary by:
