Consultation has concluded
Let us know your thoughts about the community services you value in the South West of the city!
Update
Following consultation Council reached a decision to purchase of a new property for the Adelaide South West Community Centre (ASWCC) and establish this as a staffed facility run by Council noting that during the interim period between exiting the community centre on Sturt Street and relocating to the new building, the Minor Works Building could be used as the temporary (staffed) community centre.
In December 2020 the Sturt Street location closed and ASWCC reopened in January 2021 at the temporary location of Minor Works Building.
Background
The Adelaide South West Community Centre (ASWCC) has provided a focus for resident connection, wellbeing and community building. It currently provides a meeting place and event venue for a range of community and special interest groups, a variety of community programs, as well as a number of services including public computers, library selection, collection and return services, and a location for city residents to pick up kitchen caddies and compostable liner bags.
The current lease over the property at 171 Sturt Street will expire on 28 February 2021 and as such, we are interested in understanding the needs of the community to help inform Council on how we can best deliver these services for the community into the future beyond the current lease.
For the purposes of this engagement, the “South West City” has been defined as 500m around / Iparrityi/Whitmore Square (please see map). This will capture feedback from a broad range of community members across different neighbourhoods in the south west and city south.
Project Information
We want feedback from the local community and patrons of the Adelaide South West Community Centre on what community services you value in your local area. This information will help to inform Council on how we can best deliver these services for the community into the future.

*UPDATE: consultation period has been extended and will now close at 5 pm Wednesday 2 September 2020*
