Consultation has concluded
The draft Strategy has been informed by research and data about our City as well as extensive stakeholder engagement on Adelaide’s nightlife, including the Growing Adelaide’s Evening Economy Forum, the Adelaide After Dark Form, the Picture Adelaide Project and a series of other workshops and consultations.
This has helped to identify the City’s strengths and weaknesses, and ignite ideas and opportunities to improve the experience and offering of our City in the early evening (5-8pm), night (8pm-1am), late night (1am-3am) and early morning (3am-6am).

Project Information:
The Good Evening, Adelaide Strategy was endorsed by the
Capital City Committee in July 2014. The strategy will now assist in the planning and implementation of new projects and
services, and outlines the vision, strategic direction and actions to grow and
diversify the City’s early evening and night-time economy.
Since Good Evening, Adelaide
has been developed a number of benefits have already been realised, including the upgrade and improvement of the City of Adelaide What’s On website and
the development of a weekly ‘What’s On’ e-newsletter, which provides news on
what’s happening in the City. There has also been an increase in the number
of small venues operating in the City, an increase in outdoor dining
applications, AdelaideFree
WiFi coverage across the City and
improved frequency, coverage and operating hours of the Free
City Connector Bus.
Adelaide City Council and the State Government will
continue to work collaboratively with the community and sector groups to build
on these benefits, boost
the night-time economy and deliver opportunities to ensure Adelaide is a fun,
welcoming, exciting and economically prosperous City – day and night, all year
round. See ‘Good
Evening, Adelaide’ to read the strategy.
The final Good Evening, Adelaide Strategy has been endorsed by Adelaide City Council.
As this is a joint
project with the State Government, it will now be presented to the
Capital City Committee which will reconvene shortly following the recent State
Government election. Once endorsed by the Capital
City Committee the consultation outcomes and final Strategy will be publically
available from this site.
