Welcome back to the Park Lands Trail Site.

The Park Lands Trail is a shared use trail that will establish a link to the Adelaide Park Lands iconic open spaces. In partnership with the State Government, Council has constructed approximately 12km of the Park Lands Trail to form what is known as the ‘Southern Loop’, linking the River Torrens Linear Park Trail with the west, south and east Park Lands.

Once the 'Northern Loop' is completed, the Trail will form an 18km loop that
will expand beyond the Park Lands network to a broader system of Trails throughout the Central Region, namely the Torrens Linear Park.

Recent consultation with the community living in and around North Adelaide has informed the development of a series of plans to guide the implementation of the final stages of the Park Lands Trail through Mann Tce, Kingston Tce East and along the North Adelaide Golf Course.

Council has recently completed the final detailed design and documentation for these works and will look to implement the remaining stages of the Park Lands Trail over the next two - three years.

In the 2014/15 financial year, Council will install the next stage of the Trail throughout Mann Tce, Kingston Tce East and throughout Park 6.

Further updates and communication to residents, stakeholders and the wider community about these works and its timeframes will be communicated shortly.

    Stage 1
The purpose of this engagement was to understand how the remaining sections, specifically; Mann Terrace, Kingston Terrace East and the North Adelaide Golf Course could look and feel.

Our aim is to enlist the ideas of people who live, work, play and go to school in these areas to ensure that the trail fits in with the aspirations and culture of the community

    Consultation Outcome
Through workshops, people’s comments and ideas a series of simple drawings and exhibited at a ‘Trail Talk’ event on the corner of Mann Terrace and McKinnon Parade on 11 December 2013.

For the North Adelaide Golf Course section, the outcome included an innovative suggestion for a route to avoid most of the Golf Course but to incorporate the feeling of nature which most people had said was an important part of North Adelaide.

For the Mann Terrace section, it became clear that the unhindered conditions for cyclists meant that there was little need to remove most of the parking available – particularly if there were calming treatments for cars. A key issue raised was the crossing of Melbourne Street between the two parts of Mann Terrace.

    Stage 2
Recent consultation with the community living in and around North Adelaide has informed the development of a series of plans to guide the implementation of the final stages of the Trail.

The purpose of this engagement was to share with you these plans, which Council will look to implement over the next two to three years to complete the Park Lands Trail.
