Update - January 2023

We are pleased to confirm that all works were completed just prior to the Festive break, and the new infrastructure will be ready for Fringe 2023. Thank you for your patience while this project has been undertaken. Despite challenging weather conditions the project was completed within the expected timeframe and on budget.

Update - October 2022

Despite a very wet end to winter and start to spring, the contractor has successfully completed the in ground component of the project. This was on time, without any significant unforeseen issues.

Works have now turned to laying turf and returning the Park to a public space. You will notice the contractors will start removing perimeter site fencing, whilst continuing to repair irrigation, lay turf and install new above ground infrastructure. These late works will be ongoing until the end of the year when the project will be complete and available for event organisers.

Once the above ground infrastructure is commissioned and active the community BBQ's will be activated and usable again. At this stage we expect this to be completed by late November/early December.

We thank you for your patience while these important upgrades were completed.

Update - July 2022

Works are well under way!

In early to mid-June the contractor established perimeter site fencing and their site facilities, and commenced surveying and pegging infrastructure alignment, and initial investigations.

Once initial investigations were complete, the contractor started works; including trenching and laying conduits. Despite impacts from inclement weather (rain) and poor site conditions, good progress is being made. Works are tracking well for completion in early October.

What is happening during the upgrade?

Between June and October of this year we will be doing significant work that will improve and upgrade services that support the ongoing use of the park as a major event and entertainment hub in the eastern Park Lands.

The works will include major electrical; water supply and sewerage upgrades.
